Holy Name Catholic School celebrated the eighth grade Class of 2020 on Tuesday, August 11th with a special Mass in the Holy Name Catholic School Gymnasium celebrated by Father Rick Courier and concelebrated by Father Francis DeGroot and Father Timothy Ferguson.

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Marquette, Michigan, have made a bold move to embrace an educational curriculum of the past to pave the way for a vibrant future. The diocese is the first in the nation to fully move all of its schools to a classical Catholic curriculum.
If you read our last column, you know that the impromptu school closures had our faculty, staff and students feeling a bit down in the dumps. However, it isn't like us to wallow, so we had to organize our best farewell, thus far, and let's just say it didn't disappoint.
The halls of Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy, affectionately nicknamed JPII, have sat without the thrum of student activity for nearly two months, now. While the staff is used to silent summers, there's just something about a still school in May that is just...sad.
