When Bishop John Doerfler published his pastoral plan for our diocese to form Spirit-filled Evangelizers, he asked his department directors to give a brief witness talk to the Curia staff of a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. That invitation got me thinking about how most of my encounters with the Big Guy are not, at least initially, very story-worthy. If I was going to share a personal encounter, I needed it to be a story that left little room for doubt about the real presence of Christ in the encounter.
