I love to read! And this summer, the stack of books by my reading chair is increasingly full of spiritual guidance. Recently, a book was recommended to me that I am really enjoying. In Let Us Dream: The Path to a Better Future, Pope Francis shares with us how it is possible to emerge from a crisis better than before. I can’t think of a more perfect topic as we enter into this fall of 2021.
If you like reading too, here’s a few other books I can recommend:
You Are The Beloved by Henri Nouwen One of my favorite spiritual writers, Henri Nouwen reminds us of who we are - children of God. This daily devotional gives a short inspirational passage for each day of the year.
Advent Gospel Reflections by Bishop Robert Barron I used this daily study guide during Advent of 2018 and have gifted it to many family members and friends in subsequent years. It really helped me make the most of this very sacred time in the life of the Church.
A Year of Hiking: Journal + Motivational Tracker by Stacy E. Bressler I received this book as a gift from my daughter to keep track of my hikes - which is something else I like to do that keeps me close to God. I like it because it doesn’t have any days attached to it, you just write down the hikes that you choose to - no worries about missing a day!
I would love to hear what your favorite books are that keep you connected on your Catholic journey. Feel free to email me at [email protected].
