Catholic Campus Ministry at Northern Michigan University is once again holding their annual "Miles for Ministry" fundraising event, a 31 mile relay race from Ishpeming to Marquette.
The Care Clinic in Marquette held its 50th annual Life Walk, “Walking with Families,” in the Third Street clinic’s backyard, giving attendees the chance to tour the inside of the clinic after the walk.
A groundbreaking was held on June 14, 2023 at the site where St. Kateri Tekakwitha Mission will be rebuilt in Bay Mills. The church was destroyed by a fire in May 2021.
A program for young kids and a program for teens was held during the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress on June 9-10. School-aged children had an an afternoon of catechesis and fun led by Totus Tuus missionaries. Teens who were middle and high school age from around the diocese had a time of conversation, fellowship, and listening to talks about the importance of the Eucharist, led by parish leaders from across the diocese.
The Diocesan Eucharistic Congress was held on June 9 and 10 at the Superior Dome in Marquette, with national speakers presenting to those in attendance, with the goal of reviving devotion to the Eucharist. The speakers present were Father Luke Spannagel, Dr. Edward Sri, Father John Riccardo, and Steve Ray, as well as musicians Dave and Lauren Moore.
Faithful from across the Diocese of Marquette came together at the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress, with more than 1,500 people in attendance. It was held June 9 – 10 at the Superior Dome in Marquette. The theme was ‘One Thing is Necessary,’ taken from Jesus’ words in Luke 10:42.
The strong Franciscan presence of the Fraternity of St. Francis at St. Joseph and St. Patrick parish in Escanaba for a century was celebrated April 15 at the church.
